Partnership for Haiti is a non-profit organization working to provide free medical care for earthquake victims in Haiti. Since January 14, 2010 we have treated over 22,000 patients.
After the first month of operations, the hospital’s medical staff realized the need for a formal administrative structure and a long-term fund raising strategy to maintain their operations. For this purpose, a group of administrative, medical, legal, communications and governmental relations professionals were gathered to form Partnership for Haiti with the hopes of aiding the hospital to organize its resources and activities, to expand its services to Internally Displaced People (IDP) camps, coordinate with international organizations such as the United Nations an the World Health Organization, obtain and send equipment and supplies, design new surgical facilities, improve the treatment facilities, and to recruit and transport other volunteer medical professionals. Since its inception, one hundred percent (100%) of all contributions made to Partnership for Haiti have gone to costs directly associated with providing aid or fund raising. All of our personnel is composed of volunteers. Furthermore, a detailed breakdown of earnings and expenses will be published monthly, so that donors can see how their contributions are being used. Haiti’s impoverishment has worsened an already catastrophic situation. Experts predict that the emergency medical needs will reach much higher levels than those of January 2010, if international aid organizations do not remain and help. For this reason Partnership for Haiti is committed to remain in Haiti indefinitely, bringing free medical care and services to all who need it. Every day, between emergencies, checkups and surgeries, we treat hundreds of patients of all ages who were left without resources, homes, and families. We’re moved by the hope we see in the eyes of the people who do not give up and fight every day to reconstruct their lives. To achieve this we need your help. |
Our current field hospital is the result of medical and humanitarian aid efforts that began 48 hours after the earthquake of January 2010 and have continued uninterrupted since then. Since the first doctors arrived in Haiti, two days after the earthquake, more than two hundred and fifty (250) physicians have volunteered their services at our Hospital.
